The service life of a knurling wheel is determined by many factors—one of the most decisive being tolerance. For decades, Hommel+Keller has relied on manufacturing processes with maximum precision in concentricity and axial runout— enabling maximum production output per knurling wheel and consistently lower unit costs.
Premium material as standard
We exclusively use powder metallurgical high-speed steel for our zeus and QUICK knurling wheels. Its fine and uniform material structure makes the material more resistant. For our customers, this means longer service life, fewer tool changes, and thus greater process reliability in production.
Internal heat treatment
Each batch is heat-treated separately to achieve the ideal material hardness. Hardening and tempering take place within the same batch, ensuring an exceptionally high-quality and controlled process. This guarantees consistently high product quality and outstanding service life – knurling wheel after knurling wheel.
