Because sustainability is a continuous process

What we understand by sustainability

For us at Hommel+Keller, sustainability has a lot to do with authenticity and focusing on tangible improvements in everyday business operations. Our overarching ambitions are reflected in the so-called Triple Bottom Line, the three-pillar model of sustainability, in which we consider economic, ecological, and social aspects in our efforts. Through targeted changes in specific areas, we contribute to a more sustainable world and, in doing so, further develop ourselves and our company. Part of our conviction is this: We don’t place much value on awards, certificates, and the like, which are often just superficial appearances. Rather, we see sustainability as a shared journey that we began many years ago and continue to actively pursue—with our employees, customers, and partners.

1.
Gebäudetechnik & Photovoltaik

Aspects of sustainability have been shaping the development of our company for a long time. This includes, for example, our new building, where we rely on efficient building technology, and our PV system, which covers a significant portion of our own energy consumption.

2.
Monitoring & Konkrete Projekte

Since January 2024, our consumption data (energy, raw materials, etc.) has been meticulously recorded. This allows us to determine our carbon footprint, and we have introduced relevant metrics for monitoring. As part of this, we have implemented specific projects, such as utilizing the waste heat from compressors in winter, standardizing and reducing our operating materials, and increasing the efficiency of our operational technology by saving energy with the ventilation system—further projects are already in the planning stage.

3.
Mitarbeiter

Sustainability always has a social component as well. For us at Hommel+Keller, this primarily includes treating our employees with respect and appreciation. Because without our team, we wouldn’t be where we are today. We offer our colleagues numerous benefits—from company pension plans (our Hommel+Keller pension), bonuses, vacation and Christmas pay, to job bikes. Our company health management, modern ergonomic office spaces, and above all, a culture of collaboration create a performance-enhancing, pleasant atmosphere and a truly healthy working environment.

4.
Kunden und Partner

Sustainability in our relationships with customers and partners around the world primarily involves trust, openness, and honesty. It’s no coincidence that we enjoy so many long-standing relationships: relationships that form the foundation for sustainably successful business. Sustainable customer and partner care for us also includes intelligent logistics concepts and reducing travel times to the necessary minimum. Download Code of Conduct
