We exclusively use powder metallurgical high-speed steel (PM-HSS) for our zeus and QUICK knurling wheels.
Thanks to its fine and extremely uniform structure, this material is particularly resistant.

Internal heat treatment
for consistent knurling wheel quality
Each batch is heat treated separately in our own hardening furnace to achieve the ideal material hardness. Hardening and tempering within the same batch results in a fully controlled, high-quality heat treatment process that promotes pressure resistance, wear resistance, and toughness.
This guarantees consistent quality and an exceptionally long service life—knurling wheel after knurling wheel.
Surface treatment
for even longer service life
In addition to the choice of base material, the right surface treatment can also significantly increase the service life of a knurling wheel. The appropriate treatment always depends on the individual wear pattern of the wheel. We therefore recommend tailoring the surface optimization specifically to your application.

TENIFER SALT BATH NITRATION

The post-treatment of the knurling wheel in a salt bath using the TENIFER® process is used to increase wear resistance and fatigue strength. The salt bath nitrocarburizing process can achieve a high surface layer hardness—a decisive advantage if you want to purchase durable and precise knurling wheels.
PVD COATINGS

PVD coatings for knurling wheels offer additional opportunities to increase service life, especially in cut knurling applications. Different coating variants are available on request and can be tailored to the respective material and process requirements.
POLISHED KNURLING WHEELS

Finely polished knurling wheels are suitable for adhesive materials where optimum chip flow is crucial. The very smooth surface reduces friction, prevents built-up edges, and protects the tooth flanks—for less wear and greater process reliability, especially if you want to buy high-quality knurling wheels.
